| Where can I stay? What facilities are available? Are meals included? Is parking available? |
There is a bunkhouse on site (see photo) which can accommodate up to twelve people. It has a small self contained kitchen in addition to shower, toilet and bunk beds, as well as a recreation room. Meals are not included so you would be staying on self catering basis. For food shopping Alston is best and is only five miles away. Parking is freely available. If you wished to make your own accommodation arrangements there are Bed and Breakfast and Hotel facilities in nearby Nenthead, Alston and Garrigill. Below is listed a few useful addresses.

|
| What clothes do I need to bring? |
Excavation in Northumberland at any time of the year can be a wet experience! Warm, light-weight clothing is highly recommended. A waterproof coat may be at times necessary and stout boots to work in are mandatory. The excavations take place over summer so sun lotion and a hat to protect you from the sun is also very useful. Insect repellent is advisable, as the heather can hide lots of biting insects!
